Having fun with Joomla! and WordPress

As the title says, I’m currently having fun learning and using Joomla! and WordPress. For the uninformed, Joomla! is a website content management system and WordPress is a weblog content management system. Both are quite similar but built for different purposes. Joomla! is more suitable for business and organization websites, large websites in particular. It makes managing website content much easier and with faster updates. WordPress is more focused on blogs and also much simpler than Joomla!. Basically, for both Joomla! and WordPress, you’ll just have to make themes or templates to have a website running. This site uses WordPress.

For the record, I make my own templates. I have this thing about uniqueness so I made my own. There were actually two templates I made for this site, I’m currently using the latest one (Lines and Shades) which features lots of things you can do with CSS. If you’re using Internet Explorer 6, you’re missing a lot! So go download and use Firefox or Opera. Everything in the template design is mostly composed of CSS. The images I used are only for the icons, header logo, and input form backgrounds, everything else is text and CSS in action.

I have actually launched a site using Joomla!, unfortunately I’m not allowed to say what site. The template design was of course mine. I’m also currently making another website which I’m going to announce later on. It ain’t for money though cause it’s for the family ^_^x
